Red Devils in triple swoop

Crisis, what crisis ?

'Man Utd are a club in crisis' how many times have you heard that one then in the last couple of weeks. Fact: if Spurs lose four on the trot no-one notices. OK so the defeats weren't good. Letting those Geordie bastards shove 5 past us was terrible (mind you we played better than they did in the Charity Shield) and Southampton was just a joke. So why did the Saints beat us? According to Graham Sounness they were expecting Man U to come out "like cornered animals". If he said that to the Daily Mail what the fuck do you think he said to his team. Is it any wonder they were fired up, every team treats Man U at home like it's a cross between the cup final and England vs. Germany anyway, with that kind of additional fear factor they were probably all running on 110% adrenaline. Add to that the 3 recent signings who all look very good and would all still be desperate to impress the new boss and no wonder they played well. Ok so perhaps with more confidence we could have coped, but no-one crowed as much when Leicester did Newcastle 2-0.

So moving on to the Turkish tossers. Fact one: they are not as shit as everyone wants to make out. Okacha has been blinding for ages, he stared for Eintract Frankfurt and won the Olympics for fuck's sake. Kostadinov the same he's proved himself in the Bundeslige, and that Bolic bloke, well the Italian national team (the name Maldini mean anything to you) didn't do any better at controlling him, he scored against them. The Turkish league is very competitive these days you don't win it just for turning up. Fact two: If that Scholes chip/fluke had gone in everyone would have talked about what a good job we did of being careful and controlling the game. We didn't play that badly, we just lacked the final ball.

Next up Chelsea. A very good team (feel sorry for whoever has to play them once they've got Zola). With the players they have in their team they have bought the right to be consider along with the elite of the premiership. They have a good boss, a good way of playing and a good settled side. Losing to them is very disappointing but no disgrace.

In looking at why we've lost 4 there is one striking thing, key injuries. Keano, we still have no-one else who can really dominate the midfield like he can, when he isn't there it hurts. Pallister, worse than being injured he has been played while unfit. He is probably the best defender in the country when fit, when not fit he can, like anyone be a liability. May and Johnsen are OK but not the kind of class we need. And Giggsy, have we been gagging for his crosses or what.

We'll still be back and we'll still win the league. The rest just gloat because they know this. When we lose it's headline news, rare events are like that.

Alex, The worlds greatest manager

It is now 10 years that the boy Ferguson has been in charge of the club. He has built us into the greatest footballing dynasty of the decade. He may have taken time initially but we have seen his judgement proved spot on. The youth team policy is well documented, and was instigated by Sir Alex. In recent years he has had the faith to sell some of the senior squad and go with youngsters, and we have all enjoyed the dividends. Indeed it seems his golden touch is only ruined when he spends too much. Andy Cole has yet to justify his price tag and patience is running out. There are rumors in the Bristol area (where he used to play) that his problems may come from certain white lines (obviously his ability to get the ball to cross them, you may remember Paul Merson had the same problems a few years back).

Reds in triple swoop

Sources have suggested that Man U may be close to an astounding triple swoop for Milan centre back Paulo Maldini, Milan midfielder/defender Marcel Desailley, and Fiorentina striker Gabriel Batistuta. It is thought Ferguson want the three to strengthen his already superb team.
